The 12th Edition of the Troféu Raça Negra gala in São Paulo, Brazil, included a tribute to honor the memory of Nelson Mandela. This gala was the capstone event that ended a week-long educational conference and cultural tour dedicated to Brazilian Black Awareness Week. Full Circle Group was responsible for media clips, capturing and producing a documentary, photography and special event video footage during the historic celebration.
FCG conducted interviews with several U.S. Delegates, including Historically Black College & University (HBCUs) presidents, administrators and members of the White House staff. Naomi King, sister of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., was also in attendance along with Joe Beasley, Rainbow Push Detroit Chapter President. Our team was also responsible for capturing video footage and photos at Zumbi dos Palmares University, where the widow of Nelson Mandela, Graça Machel, was recognized and participated in the educational conference. Machel has been recognized as one of the 100 most influential people in the world according to Time magazine.
